Title: Food Dehydrator? Post by: NYDaisy on July 05, 2008, 01:54:39 PM I have been wanting to add some dried fruits and veggies to my rats diet but they are quite pricey! Plus their banana chips that they used to love SO much, I can no longer find them with no sugar added - sigh...
So, I have been looking into buying my own food dehydrator. Any suggestions or tips while shopping for one? I don't want to spend too much, but I also want something that works ;) Mods: Wasn't sure if this should be here or in Random. Title: Re: Food Dehydrator? Post by: Heatherama on July 05, 2008, 02:33:25 PM Where in NY? I have a pretty good size one that I don't use anymore. OR, if you have a couple of box fans you can do your own. lol. Learned that from Alton Brown on the Food Network. http://annarbor.albertelli.com:85/weblog/?p=86

Thanks for the reply - I'm in Rochester, NY. Is it something that can be shipped? Title: Re: Food Dehydrator? Post by: Heatherama on July 05, 2008, 07:12:18 PM Yeah, it's pretty light weight. Let me take a look at my box collection tonight and see if I've got something it will fit in. If so, consider it yours. Need to ask hubby where it is when he gets home from work in an hour.

Oh well, I thought we still had it. Sorry about that. They aren't really that expensive though. Ebay has a bunch for around $25.
