Title: Creative box chewing 101 Post by: LastEchoes on July 17, 2008, 04:26:49 AM So my girls have had their cardboard box for about 6-7 months now...Maybe more, I don't exactly keep track but I know it's been at least that long.
It started off as a nice, perfect to sleep/stash food box. A few months into box's life, my girls decided it needed a window: (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/riegfinnid/rats162.jpg) Another couple of months went by...And at some point last night one of my girls did this: (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/riegfinnid/box.jpg) Notice the perfectly horizontal chew pattern (ok i compromised it a bit with part of the roof collapsing during removal process) I say it takes some talent to chew in such an angle and keep it horizontal. I think she might have been trying to demolish/remove one wall of the box for that 'open' feel/look. My girls demolish theirs with their 'creative tendencies' within the first week. Crazy rats :P

Title: Re: Creative box chewing 101 Post by: LastEchoes on July 18, 2008, 05:12:11 PM I don't know. Neither my boys or girls that I have(had) ever destroyed their boxes fast. Most boxes will last for months. Perhaps it's because I give them newpaper/papertowels to rip apart along with other chew toys that are more fun to destroy than boxes.

She chewed it...and I swear it looked like a middle finger. I took a pic, but can't find it. If I find it, I'll post it.
