In the last 48 hours I have gone through 3 different types of tunneling and can't seem to figure it out.  They chewed through the ferret tunneling and I bought 2 different gerbil tunneling systems both collapse and I can tall they won't fit in them in about a month, so what do you guys use?  I had a friend who used PVC pipe but that seems to cumbersome and unattractive to me.  Any other suggestions?  TIA

Some rats are just chewers, and not much can be done about that.   Undecided  My three girls don't care for tunnels, so we play with them out in the open - and I don't know what your rats would have success with as far as objects that they will not chew.  I wish I could be of more help.

Anyone?

I think the white PVC tubes look alright, but only if you aren't going to hang them. Have you tried the Super Pet Ferret hanging tubes? I really like these and my rats only chew on the soft plastic ends.
Here's a picture of both the Hanging and the White tubes in one of my cages.

(sorry, the letters got blurred for some reason.)

My rats play in PVC pipe. If you don't like white too much im sure you could get black somewhere. My rats are chewers and i got a PVC pipe that has 3 tunnels on one peice. It's in the shape of a T. Works well they love it.

If you have any old pairs of pants you don't wear anymore I am sure you could cut the legs off of them.

My ratties are chewers too but they hated their pipes. Some other things I put in their cage are a Flowerpot, cardboard boxes, toilet rolls, bricks or to keep them entertained I fill a sock{{washed }} with treats then hang it and they pull in down and then sit there trying to get them all.

lots and lots of carboard boxes ....thats what mine play in.  Ratty Smiley

as for tunnels, I found a really cheap way to get them.  Talked to a carpet store and they gave me several of the cardboard tube that they ship rugs in.   Cut them to length and.....lots of rattie fun.

and when they get too yucky.....just toss them in the trash.

Mine love pvc pipes, hanging tubes made from old pants, and climbing stuff like vertical ladders.
