"That teacher with all the weird animals!"

« on: May 04, 2002, 05:09:17 PM »

I checked Emily's babies this morning.  I figure they're about 7 days old by their development. Toenails are in place and light fur is coming in.  Emily is a little timid and shy, but not the least bit aggressive even with my hands in the cage touching her babies.

As long as Emily isn't pregnant again, I think I have homes lined up for everyone when the babies are ready to go.

My baby plays hide-and-go-seek!

The nice thing about rat babies is that they develop so fast that its fairly easy to age them.

Not so with adults.  ;/

In any case, it sounds like they are doing well.  I'm glad they are in your care, and not in some aquarium at a pet shop.  I'm also happy to hear that they appear to be no worse for the wear, and will probably adjust to be wonderful pets.  Smiley
