Rattie cage plus wodent wheel ordered....
2 hammocks, water bottle and igloo purchased.
Rat food recipe printed out and ready to buy ingredients.

No turning back now! Ive been emailing breeders around my area trying to find ratties. I should have them within the next month or so, as soon as we are doing building the little Hamster shelf to keep the ratties away from the hammies.

*grin*

soo happy.

I think I am getting boys.

We're both counting down the days Cheesy! Before long we'll both be rattie moms! My cage is all set up for my girl's arrival next weekend, and I just LOVE looking at it...it confirms that they really are coming. Waiting is still horrible though  Wink

Good for you Deedles, I'm so happy you're finally getting your rats (and boys, too!).

If you're really worried about your hamsters you could always get a glass or plastic aquariam/container (if they're in a cage) to put the cage inside when the rats are out.

When I first moved in with my boyfriend (and had a smaller cage) we made a plywood box thing which covered half the cage and gave the girls somewhere to hide safely until the cats got bored with them!

Good luck!

hehehe  It sounds like you're setting up the nursery and you're 'nesting' hahaha  Sounds like you're pretty set!!  Now to hurry up and wait ... the HARD part!  How far are you willing to drive for a breeder set of boys??  Do you want hairless or furry?  I've got a friend driving from Phoenix to Pasadena to pick up her boys next weekend.   She's waited a good two month for these guys, I'm not sure what the waiting list is like for this breeder though.  OH, and didn't I see that Marwin's Rattery is making a trip to California!!!!!!  I don't recall the dates though .....hmmmmmm let me try something here:

Marwin and Landmark (read: Sara and Kim) will be taking a road trip(read: girls get a break from boys and kids) to California.

Looks like we will be going through Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada.

Beautiful rat babies, teens and adults available to approved homes. Reasonable delivery fee. Will meet along planned route.

Dont miss this opportunity...contact Marwin for more information: marwinrats@yahoo.com

See our website for pics of availiable rats:

Thank you!

Yeah, I was in contact with the lady from Marwin.

And I had 2 reserved... until my boyfriend freaked out. So I had to cancel them *sigh*

I think they have left to california already, and I doubt they  had any boys available left.

Deedles and Kristen,
Hang in there, soon you will be rattie Moms
I know the waiting is so hard!
Maybee you could use some of the time by thinking about or setting up play areas for them? Might make the time go by faster Undecided
Good luck on your new arrivals, let us know when you get them Cheesy

I too have reached the point of no return!  I've just spent a fourtion on a Martin's cage and a whole bunch of junk from The Ferret Store.com.  Now all I have to do is decide on food, pick up a few more things, and wait for my stuff to get here!  This is so exciting! Grin  contrats[/i] to all of us!
