Author Topic: Soft stools normal in nursing rats?  (Read 589 times)

We just picked up a sister to our escape artist rat (see "you're not going to believe this" post).  I believe it's just shy of four weeks and was still nursing.  It's stools were very golden and loose.  I'm thinking that's normal for a nursing rat, but I just wanted to make sure.  It had just finished nursing when we picked it up and it let go in the car.  Yuck.  Please let me know if I should have any concerns about this.

Sounds to me like the pet store was very irresponsible in letting you adopt a rat that isn't weaned. That's way too young, and it likely isn't fully on solid foods yet.
I hope you don't have problems acclimating it...
