Well, someone came in to work today and gave us her rats back, I sold her the rats when they were babies. She was afraid of them and her kids didn't take care of them anymore. And into the rat tank they went. I felt bad because we don't have "feeder rats" and "fancy rats" at work. (We have baby rex's that are being sold for feeders or pets right now). So I figured then rats who were used to people were already 6 months old and would have a hard time finding a home, especially being in with babies. So then a lady calls and asks about our rats and says how they have been reading that rats should be in pairs, she feels bad that her rats is all alone. I tell her to come in and they are so nice! They've been to a few rat sites, they use aspen and feed lab blocks, basically do everything right. Their rat is in a 3 story rat cage. And they are trying to decide to take a baby or one of the females that came in. Well, long story short, they took the older female vs. the baby. I printed this site out on their receipt, hopefully they will come around. They said they were looking at all the cute pics on the dapper rat site. I'm just glad that one of the former pet rats went to a good home, not that the babies don't deserve it, but I felt bad that the friendly rats were most likely gonna fgo for snake food just because they were bigger. Now to just get the other older female a good home...and all the babies if that is at ALL possible. Anyway, thought I'd share that some people out there are very wise and do research and stuff, it kinda made my day!
