Well this has been a truly awful weekend..after our trip to the vets Babs went downhill very quickly, she was fluffed up and breathing very heavily, I kept giving her warm sugared water every 2 hours. I moved the cage out of the living room and into my bedroom where she would be quiet. On Sunday night (36 hours after her shock) she still hadn't eaten so I gave her some complan which she took happily..I had to leave her during this time to be at the hospital with my daughter..but when I was home she was with me, Ruby made a deal with Babs that they would both try n get better!!
Today I really thought ..excuse the expression.. its poop or bust, Babs seemed to be quite literally loosing the will to live,  But slowly as I sat next to the cage she seemed to come round, she came to me for some kisses and then an hour later she climbed out the cage. Smiley
All day she has slept alot but has seemed much stronger and happier...I am hoping we are over the worst of it.
I have to say the pain killer she was given lasted 72 hours..I wonder if this zonked her out? Any thoughts?
I am still at a loss as to know what the dog was doing...there was absoulutly no pressure in his hold on her he was whinning and he too seemed distressed at the situation, he happily gave her to me??? He has shown no interest ever in the girls and they even sleep on him when we are on the sofa in the evenngs...if more than two rats are out on the sofa he moves!! Huh
I guess things can only get better.

I am so glad to hear that Babs is starting to feel better!  The pain reliever may have zonked her out for alittle while!

I hope things continue getting better! Cheesy

What happend with your  rat? I think it was the dog but I'm not sure. I do hope she gets better though, sounds like she's gonna be fine. I hope she gets better soon.

So sorry to hear about your baby, but it seems things are taking a turn for the better,Keeping my fingers crossed. From what you say it seems to me that your dog was probably trying to help.I to have a dog,she was not at all thrilled when the girls arrived but has since adjusted. She to lets the girls climb all over her and explore and when it gets to be to much she just moves or asks to be let out of the room.Any way i bet your dog was trying to help.

I'm so happy to hear your news - we've been worrying!  My guess is that it probably was a combination of the painkiller, and shock. Sounds like she's over the worst of it. Send that little trouble maker big licks (and special pees from the boys!)
