Get past the tail, give rats a chance

WWW
« on: May 07, 2002, 09:56:41 AM »

Hello again,My little carmen often times goes off by herself to sleep, when she does she curls up and sticks her head up underneath her chest...it's very cute(as is everything she does)but is this normal or something else to worry about? At this point i don't trust my own judgement because when the girls first arrived i also thought it was very cute when they sneezed. So you can see why i have doubts.

yes, that is normal rat behaviour.  My smaller girls like to sleep like that!

Totally normal... though I often wonder if it's actually comfortable! Grin

As for being "sick" of newbies -- everyone has to start somewhere, and we were all newbies once. Grin

All of my rats have slept like that at one time or another.  It's adorable, especially when they're tiny.  Smiley  Of course, it's even more amusing when they're 2 pound squishy boys.   Grin

We totaly welcome newbies around here, so glad to see more and more people who share our love of rats.
As far as rats sleeping with their heads down like that,
no problem & it's so cute to watch. Silly furries Grin

Absolutely normal. Just another of their strange little habits!

And don't worry AT ALL about being a newbie. We've all been there - and in fact, it's fair to say that we're all newbies every time we come across a problem we haven't encountered before (and you'll see us all posting questions - if we're not worrying over health problems we'll find something else to worry about!).

We'll never be sick of newbies - newbies only add to the rattie community and help spread the word of how great ratties are!!
Welcome!! Cheesy

Right, I've been on this forum for about a year and a half and I still ask stupid questions every time my ratty does something I've never seen before..

Never! Newbies ask the best questions sometimes and remind us all of what it's like to have the wonder and amazement of your first rats. Please ask questions and share your stories to your heart's content!
