Luv My Rattie Girls!

« on: September 19, 2003, 07:01:21 PM »

First off my sisters home from the hospital. Has to be booked to have her gallbladder out. *Sorry Suebee not rat related, I'll shut up now and get back on track about rats  Yellow Cute Laugh *

I am not impressed with this hemp bedding. I find myself changing the bedding about every three days to keep odor down. It's good bedding in the sense that it's not dusty though. To expensive to be changing it that frequently.   I'm going to try Yesterdays News but I worry about it being uncomfortable on their little rattie feet. It will be ok (I hope) in the three level cage cause they have other levels and hammocks to get off of it. But my smaller cage with Sugar and Spice is one level. I could put a small hammock in there but it would be crowded. The cage is only 24" L x 12" W x 12 1/2 " H. But the girls are there only to be quarentined.  Any suggestions to make it a little more comfortable for them?Huh Or do I have to be concerned cause they have only another 2 wks to go before they can go in the main cage?  Worry
P.S Sugar has been fine since I took her to the vet and that the vet weighed her and she's 4.5 ounces (she's 8 or 9 wks old).  Cheeky
