« on: September 21, 2003, 05:43:02 AM »

I find myself an owner of a beautiful girl named Stitch [photos available soon]. And I am well aware she needs a buddy. I am in search of another female rat that is in need of a home. I live in eastern NM, but am willing to drive. I can go up 6 hours away (or my husband would have to take leave), please email, message, or just reply if you have any tips or girlies available.  I would like to get one soon, so my girl wont be bored while I'm at work and such.

States I may venture to:
Oklahoma
Texas
Colorado
& New Mexico of course

 Blue Dumbo Smile Thanks bunches,

I love black, gray, and champagne colors... okay so I love them all...  Blue Dumbo Smile

I just need a female rat, a rescue, from a breeder, doesn't really matter...

My girl is a wild one... and needs someone to wrestle with and such.

There are quite a few great rat people in CO, but most of them live in the Denver area.  There is a Rattery in Roswell, NM who has some babies available, I think, and I know for sure that she has quite a few due pretty soon.

I'm in Colorado Springs and might have a blue hooded girl available.  She's a little excitable, but otherwise a sweetie.  I think she'd be more comfortable in a home without my two year old boy running around.   Smiley

I wish you luck in your search!

I second that!  There's also several people willing to help with transpot throughout the state, myself included, so if you are interested in adopting a rescue but it's a little bit "too far", it's best to join the RMCASW list on yahoo and ask if you can get help with transport Smiley

How far is Houston from NM? I have a friend in Houston w/ two girls available.

I know you're only looking for one, but in the event your future girl doesn't get along with your current girl, you'll be stuck with two alone rats. This way, if they don't get along, at least you won't be stuck with alone rats.

Also, with just two, when one dies, you have an alone rat.

Details are in this thread.

true, i didn't think of that... thanks for bringing that up... i just might do that (gettin 2 instead of one) Blue Dumbo Smile I'm making a cage out of a shelf, 3 levels at approx. 19" x 23" x 36" (w/o any shelves in it yet)... do you think that would be large enough for 3?
Houston is 689.9 miles from the city I live in (Portales), approx 10 hour drive... that's a little too far, I cant go more than 6 hours away.
