I have 2 little 7-month old rats, Morwen and Mithwen.  They always got along ok, even tho Morwen is much bigger and used to kind of bully Mithwen.  But they got the hierarchy established and everything had been fine, nothing more than playful wrestling, no squeeks, for the last few months.  Until the last 2 weeks, when Mithwen, my shy little tilty-head girl, started biting Morwen on the ear.  Like right on the cute little sparsely haired sensitive part.  It makes Morwen squeek loudly, which she never does, and she just cowers (in fear, it seems) at Mithwen gripping her ear in her teeth.  Is there any way that I can get Mithwen to stop doing this?  I have tried 2 tactics: 1) giving Mithwen more out time and special things, in case she is jealous or something and 2) putting Mithwen back in the cage as soon as she bites Morwen.  These are totally opposite tactics, I think, and don't seem to be doing much good, as Morwen still has red little ears and is scared of getting bitten.  They aren't deep or bleeding (much, just a drop), but Morwen is definitely not happy.  Sad
