Thanks sooo much.  I found that website a while ago but I'll have to look at it again.
Any rescues?

Have you tried looking at local humane societies? I am not sure where in Illinois you live, but here is a link to a site where they have tons of links to IL humane societies.

Actually I know of two absolutely wonderful females that are 16mos old and looking for a new home  Wink . You can read about them here:

http://www.wtronix.com/awwrats2/pages/RescuesforAdoption.htm

There is Periwinkles - a blue berkshire female, and Foxie, a black bareback with a beautiful headspot/blaze thing going on. Both are dumbos. These are not my rats but I watched them grow up and feel towards them as if they were my own. I'd love to see them go to someone on here, someone responsible and trustworthy..and someone who will update with pics( Wink ) and keep them for the rest of their lives. I've been contemplating taking them myself... but things *right now* are hectic and stretched and not a good time to bring in new rats.. but we'll see..

You can watch the picture story of their developement and growth along with their gorgeous brothers and sisters here:

These girls were breed by Claudia of Nixpack. Shes a great person. I have one of her girls from the summer and she is wonderful. Very sweet laid back mellow. I would love to take these girls as well but I am at my limit.

to clarify: those girls were from an accidental litter.. but Claudia was there in the process to handle them, give them proper food, etc, etc. Smiley I've got their mom and another rat from Claudia and they're the sweetest things.

Claudia's a nice person in general as well.

Thanks for clarifying that Blue!

And yes Claudia is a wonderful person, and her rats are "something special"... they are just so amazing. I have two myself, and will no doubt be going back for more in the coming months.

I also have some accidental litters, and would be happy to drive to Northern IL to find a good home for them. See my thread "accidental babies born 9/20" for more info.

Rat Lover!

« Reply #10 on: September 30, 2003, 07:09:54 PM »

about my 2 females looking for a loving home.  I would love to keep them and buy them their own large cage,

but with my Allergies, Asthma & Bronchitis and the thoughts of starting a

family of our own some day soon it just makes better sense to find them another loving home.

It saddens me, but as currently I am sick again with my Allergies, Asthma & Bronchitis from just cleaning the 4 rat cages yesterday afternoon (just came home from the hospital this afternoon)  my doctor says it would be best if i found homes for all of them... and then have my heating and cooling system in my house cleaned i would be better off... But i just cant stand the thought of not having them... the feeling of giving up... My Cindy & Pebbles just turned 2 years old and they are my oldest rats i have ever owned and i just can think of not spending the time they have left with out me as their owner...  Then i constantly have my husband telling me to listen to the doctor... its turning into a nightmare... listening to the doctor, my husband and my mother... and then to top it off my allergies asthma and bronchitis are getting worse and worse...

Peri & Foxie are two wonderful ratties... Peri is more of an explorer and foxie explores but also likes to take it easy... They both love a wheel...

Jen

Sometimes i think it would be best for them and for me as well...

Let me know what your thoughts are...

I have a boy from Debbie at Sweet Genes, Sigmund.  Must update her.  I'm such a procrastinator.  He is the sweetest.  He's gonna be a year at the end of November.  He's a black dumbo berkshire.  He's actually my biggest most lovable boy.
