We can't find roasted soy nut/beans out here.  I've checked Wal-Mart, Food Lion, Garden shops (hey, never know haha) and even the various local junk type shops (They're similar to Dollar General, only much, much crappier)

I've got everything else from SueBee's diet (I'm finding it hard to keep from eating any of it ahaha.. I just found out I LOVE dried cranberries mmmm!)

Except those roasted beans.  Is there an alternative that would replace what nutrients they'd miss out by not having those to eat?  Or where do we get those?

I don't think there's a health food shop around here.  I've looked but can't seem to locate one.  The only one I know of is a GNC a couple hours north, I called but they only sell vitamins and various powdered drink mixes.

Hmm...I used to be a vegitarian and I ate those by the bagful.  Tongue

I think I got them from a specialty health food store. Somewhere like Wild Oats, or another health food/vegetarian store

Hi there

If you are having problems finding soynuts- god knows I am here in the UK- why not try giving your ratties a little soy milk. My rats get some every other day and they absolutley love it!!! You should be able to find soy milk in health food stores but if you don't have any near by try a large super market chain as they tend to carry them.

Good luck.

I had the same problem trying to find roasted soy nuts/beans.  Blue Dumbo Big Eyes
However l did find raw soy beans at my local health food store and roasted them myself (very simple) using the recipe (link) l found on suebees diet. My ratties love them and stash them first of anything in the mix. Grin

They are not just at vegetarian stores. If you cannot find them, find something else made with soy. I buy Soy-O's at Schnucks, the regular kind not the apple cinnamon. The rats eat them up faster than soynuts and it gives themvariety, but still with some soy in their diet. Get some Tofu and cut in small peices for them everynight. Soy is in more foods than you think. Wink

Ooh thanks!  I think I saw those Soy-O's when I was buying the various boxed cereals to mix together.

I haven't heard about a Schnucks in years! Smiley  Used to shop at one all the time when I lived in Missouri.

Thanks so much guys!  We'll go to the store this evening and see what we can locate.  Tofu I can get at the very least! Smiley

Where in MO did you used to live? I'm in St. Paul/O'Fallon. Smiley Grocery stores will also sell soynuts as well as the Soy O cereal.. so whatever you want to try. Wink

I get mine at the grocery store... the sell them in bulk and pre-bagged. Of course Wegmans is a phenomenal supermarket chain, so... I'm spoiled. Grin

But yes, other sources of soy are totally acceptable replacements... I just chose the soy nuts because they were handy (for me), and dry.

Thanks guys Smiley

Tonight we're going to go see what we can find.  I can get Tofu without a problem at the very least, till we can get up to Walmart again to check out their selection (They have a lot more cereal variety)

Don't know if this will help, but if you ask an employee if they have soy nuts, it may help to say soy bean or roasted soy bean too.  I went to the Health store and asked about unsalted soy nuts and all the employee said they had was roasted soy bean, no soy nuts.  LOL, even though she was standing right in front of them.  I got a pound of them for around $4 here and will ship you some if you want.

I get soy nuts from our health food store.

But some alternative are tofu, soy milk, soy yogurt.
