I lost my baby in the car

Someone please help me!  I just got 2 baby rats at the pet store and when I got to the car, I opened the box to see them again,and picked one up.  The little gal jumped out of my hands onto the floor of my minivan and after chasing her for 45 minutes, (she is fast), and getting help from an emplyee, I gave up since she is now nowhere to be found.  I am TERRIFIED she will chew the wires in my brand new car.  I put two live mouse traps, hopng she will get hungry.  Please, I need suggestions before hubby gets home.....

Something else you could try is to put her friend in a cage in the van, and sit quietly to see if she comes out to visit.

You could also try making a nice hide box with food in it.  And leave her friend in a secure containment near the hide box.  Be patient.   She will come.

They are quick little ones. Hang in there.

Thanks for the replies so far.  I just went back to the car with a flashlight to look under the steering wheel area, etc....  I cannot see her anywhere.  It doesn't help that she is dark brown/black...  Very hard to see.  I just can't believe this is happening.

Try putting some Peanut butter on a cracker in the live traps.
