My husband forgot to bring Dexter back to his cage before going to bed, so Dexter was out all night on the desk.
So, he starts stepping all over the phone, and suddenly I wake up in my room, (the desk is in the living room) with a blaring, 'if you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again', over and over again. I also hear other crashing noises.
So I get up to find Dexter huddled in his favorite spot on the desk, (we call it his nest-u) wide eyed, and stiff.
The poor thing scared himself silly!
I pick him up, and I gave him lots of scritches, and kisses Kiss
I felt so bad, but when I put him in his cage, he was like, "What I'd do? Let me back out!"
I ignored this, and went back to bed.Wink

ROTFLMAO!
I dunno, but he's changed our answering machine message before too!
People were telling me how I had a weird message on our machine, so I called my self, and I hear tons of noise, then I hear the beginnings of an Offspring song! before it cuts out.
What prolly happened is that I left winamp running before going to bed and that's what came on next after Dexter pushed the buttons. Sighh.

"That teacher with all the weird animals!"

My favorite escape story involves my 1st 2 rats. At the time I didn't have an ideal cage for them and they escaped rather easily.  They also lived in my classroom on a counter.

One morning we came in and couldn't find them anywhere.  We even looked outside.  The little stinkers!
When they felt like showing themselves they finally came out.  Guess where they had been hiding?  In our turn in box ( for assignments)!  The joke of the day was that they had finally "turned themselves in"!
