I Was A Rattie Mommy For 9 Years...

« on: October 07, 2003, 07:41:06 PM »

Sigh, I am REALLY craving a PEW, especially seeing all these pics of them, they are so white! But my cage will be stuffed with my current rats when Dax goes into the big cage, and there's NO talking Dave into another cage. I just REALLY want one! *whines* I think my cage said something like 5 point something zillion. How accurate is the calc? *pouts*

I've been told it's not quite correct. It says the R695 will hold less than it really will... so... *shrugs*

Dave said we can't afford to get another pet right now, I guess I agree, but I want one SO bad!!! Anyway, my cage looks like this. (for near future reference  Cheeky)

I think it might be one too many with another. Oh well, my next rescue WILL be a PEW!!!

....It always amazes me how many rats you guys seem to fit in your seemingly small cages....I couldn't imagine having more than 8 in mine, and it's 1.7m tall...

Ah well.

PEWs are cuuuute.  *nodnod*

I have 4 right now, and Dax will make 5 - so, like I said, squishing one more might be too much. The cage calc says 5.309725908723598 or whatever, now if someone tells me where I can get .309725908723598 rats in PEW color, I'll be all set.  Cheeky

I'm supposed to only be able to fit five rats in my R-695, but I have six in there. I wouldn't get any more than that though, as it's starting to look crowded.

The biggest factor though is not the size of the cage, but how often the rats get out of that cage. If your ratties are spending plenty of time out of their cage running around and having fun, you could probably get away with having one or two more than you're supposed to.

Just look for a rescue with an amputation or a neutered or spayed one.  Maybe a tailless, then you'd sort of have a large fraction of a rat, close enough to the estimate to make you feel ok about it...... Cheeky

It's really all about creative rounding of the calculator's answer.  Talk to an accountant.

Your supposed to multiply the number you get on the cage calc. by 1.3..
It says so in the directions..

Anyways, that means 6.5507 can fit.... basically, 6.6.
