Male Lab rats in Philly :

They are male Wistar Rats born 7/1/03.
There are six of them right now.   Five more are still available in the lab.
They are very healthy boys.   The ones I have here are acclimating nicely.
albino. I will be keeping any that don't get adopted out but I would hope some would
go to a new home where they would get the attention they need.   I am overrun
with rescued animals who have a permanent home here.   Can't take anymore.
They are getting a very good rat pellet and TekLab bedding which is a paper
based bedding.
Thanks for any help in getting these guys homes.

Contact Earshea@aol.com If interested!

-this is just a courtesty posting from kim's ark! we do not have these rats Smiley

Kim,
I was just wondering, even if lab rats start out pathogen free, if you introduce them into the rest of your rats, won't they pick up the mycoplasma bacterium?  Or is that only if your rats have it actively?  I thought that since all ordinary rats carry it, that it would be passed to any that didn't have it once they left the lab.  Just curious...  It would be nice not to have to deal with myco ever again!

yes, they do pick it up once exposed to other rats. however, if kept in a home where they are the only rats, they will remain pathogen free Smiley

I would take 4 to 6 of them but I am in NC.

Any thoughts of how to get them here and they have a forever home with me!  I can fit one more 4 story cage in here but thats it and this cage houses at least 6 ratties..........so 4 to 6 more is what I can handle.

I love to help all I can

sugarfoxx -

if you look at the post, you would see that the ark does not actually have these rats - this is a courtesy listing. we are not responsible for these rats and have no say in who they get adopted to or who gets them, and are not transporting them at all (ie we are not screening adopters, determing who gets what, etc).  there is a contact person listed in our adoption listing for them for anyone interested to contact directly, since they are not Ark rats. we are just spreading the word about them. we dont know anything about them besides what i listed in the ad for them...
