My Sweet Nimmahlou

« on: October 26, 2003, 01:05:25 PM »

Hi everyone... College is fast approaching and in my mad rush to try and get into my first pick i've realized I no longer have the time to take care of all of my rodents. As Shiloh & Biminy have been promised a spot with my parents after I head off, I don't worry about them much...

But mom isn't fond of Etsu & Miso my two mice, and as Ettie is getting on in her years and Miso very hyper, I'm a little afraid of them going to the wrong kind of home. I would REALLY like a somewhere where they would never be bred, and would never EVER end up 'feeder' mice to someone's pet reptile.

A little info:
Miso is a longhaired satin lilac/tan female, around 5 months old and very hyper. She has mellowed some as she has aged, but still can be jumpy when handled and is a little difficult to catch at times.

Etsu is a longhaired frizzle satin silver/tan female, her age is probably 1.5 years or more, and she is VERY laid back and calm. Ettie was origionally rescued from near death at a horrible petshop where a friend of mine worked (She snuck her out to me so that I could get her to a vet, I ended up keeping her), and due to the fact she had so many injuries while younger, she now sort of 'bumbles' along because of arthritis. Also because of her not-so-nice earlier life she is VERY sensitive to pine and cedar (Mice shouldn't be kept on this anyhow!), as well as carefresh. She seems to be allergic to dust that comes off of carefresh, however she lives quite comfortably on yesterdays news, celsorb, or aspen.

The girls will come with a choice of cages, either a 10 gallon aquarium or a wire cage, aprox 12x10x10(?). Currently they live in the wire which seems easier for Etsu to get around. They will also come with assorted toys, a wheel, water bottle, and food bowl.

refrences (2 or more preferred) and a 10 dollar adoption fee are required to assure they are getting the best home possible.

These two should not be separated until Etsu passes away. The stress of new cagemates probably would not be good for her, and she is VERY bonded to Miso!

Please email me at fifthfallenangel@hotmail.com if you are interested in adopting these two gorgeous little girls!

Where are you located?

I'm located in Pennsylvania (as in PAr), right around the York/Harrisburg area. I can drive maybe 45 minutes in any direction to find them the right kind of home, but much further than that I don't think I could do it due to a very busy schedule.

Also, an update. I've had one request so far, but she wanted to breed Miso, which is out of the question. I kept Mimi as a pet because in my eyes, although she is gorgeous she just doesn't have the temperment to become a mother. There were three other girls in her litter much better suited to it and so THEY have gone into other peoples breeding programs, while she remained a pet. Oh, and Etsu seems to be moving much better lately as we've added a few more veggies to her diet and she got to gnaw on a fresh ham bone and eat the marrow which is supposed to be very good for joint problems. I plan to talk to my vet about glucosamine and condrioitin suppliments possibly in the future when Shiloh and Nim (my rats) go for their next checkup, if I still have the mice at that time.

Hi.  I'm Arlyss, the lady who took in Captain Morgan, the pirate rat.

I've also adopted mice from Kim's Ark.

I'm going to post a link to this on Valerie's Mice Paradise, and see if we can help you.  I will stipulate that these mice are NEVER to be bred, and that a transport train can be arranged if need be.

PM me to obtain more information or e-mail me at
