I'm a llama!

« on: January 01, 2004, 08:44:44 AM »

We have our very first litter of baby ratties born on December 9th and will be parting with 10 of them after January 20th.  We are trying to be new breeders and have the mom and dad of these baby ratties.  We are located in Edinboro, PA which is about 20 miles south of Erie, PA.  We will be putting up a webpage with pictures of them very soon.  If anyone has any questions or would like the URL for the webpage once it is up please email N3NSL@aol.com.

All 10 of the rats are dumbos.  We have 2 males: 1 black standard coat and 1 black rex coat. The 8 Females are:  1 standard coat PEW, 3 standard coat blue's,  1 ruby eyed platinum rex, 1 black gloved berkshire, 1 black gloved, berkshire rex coat, 1 blue rex coat

Those babies are very cute!  I am curious as to if you have pedigrees for the parents.  Where do your rats come from?  How are the parents in temperament, and have they ever had any health problems?  I ask lots of questions, but someone is bound to wonder.   Grin
Oh...  Those little blue ratlets...   Blue Dumbo Smile

Thanks Kira for asking.  No, I do not have pedigrees for the rats yet.  We bought our adult rats from a teenage girl in the area the was trying to be a breeder.  She bred very nice rats but did not provide us with pedigrees at all.  She has since stopped breeding so we have decided to take it up on our own.  I have written down all that I know about our current rats and our new litter and hope to start our own pedigree.  So, to answer your second question...we did not buy these rats from a pet store.

There parents have awesome tempermants as do all but one of our rats who we would never breed.  Their health is also perfect.  Have not had one problem with any of our rats.....knock on wood  Hyper

Thank you for asking.  We appreciate rat owners that care about those sorts of things because you can bet that we will be asking lots of questions of our own:)

oh my, you're SO CLOSE and they're SO BEAUTIFUL! if my boy Shi just hadn't proved to me today he does NOT want a roomate (I literally have the scars to prove it), and my rescue Sam wasn't looking for a home himself....

I may send some people your way who were looking for good rats origionating from a breeder... I get a coule of calls every 6 months or so asking if i'm 'still in the business' so to speak. I'm not, but i'm ALWAYS looking for some nice people to refer them to!

As of today, all 10 rats have been reserved.  Thank you all for your interest and concern.  If there are any changes I will definitely repost and please bookmark the page I have listed as if we decide to breed another litter the pictures will be posted there.

Thanks again,
Amber
