I Was A Rattie Mommy For 9 Years...

« on: April 19, 2004, 08:41:12 PM »

Is it ALWAYS so expensive!!! Shocked 2 Since I can't find a store that sells any good lab blocks, (the store I used to buy from stopped carrying browns and now carries Kaytee) Tongue ick! I went to the last pet store I could think of before I was doomed. I ended up with a small bag of regal rat food that cost me $14.24!!! (again... Shocked) My rats like it, but I am just so shocked at the cost! Is there any place to order it cheaper, I always think ordering rat food online will be a big shipping bill. With 6 rats, I try to go for bigger bags (like 30 lbs). Maybe I'll look into Harland T. but I can't find anywhere close by that sells lab blocks!  Undecided

I want to add it to my ratties' menu because they also really like it . Thankfully I have found a pet feed store that will order any Oxbow products for me Cheesy

If I had ordered some off oxbow.com,  with shipping it would have cost me around $70 something for the 30lb bag (that's more than what I pay for the Harlan)... Maybe you could find a feed store that could order you some? it would still be expensive, but it should be cheaper than ordering.

I know most of the feed stores, around here at least, have contact with Purina, so if nothing else, yours might be able to order you Mazuri or LabDiet. If you go look on Labdiet.com, there are several formulas with NO ethoxyquin and with soy or wheat as the first ingredient.
