Rat Lover!

« on: May 12, 2004, 06:21:49 PM »

Reason I have to find new Loving Homes for my precious ratties:

My Allergy/Asthma doctor says I have to lower my rat population to a smaller number or I will keep having allergy/Asthma episodes that keep getting worse and worse.

Like the fact that my asthma sends me to the emergency room... I had to have another ambulance take me there today May 12th 2004 from 11am till 430pm and I just got home.  and i am still miserable.  Today it was baddd....

He also said if I didn't find homes for some of them he would have to quit being my doctor, because patient refuses to cooperate.  I know that sounds quite harsh and it upsets me greatly, but I have had that same doctor for close to 9 years now and he is the best one I have ever been to, so it would be really hard for me to have to go on a search again to
find another good doctor that will help me.  I am allergic to a good amount of the medicines out there.  I could go on &  on, but that basically explains it.

Hopefully I will be able to find my lovely girls a new loving home, before I have to look into finding a no kill shelter that will take them in.

That is so terrible Sad  I hope you can find some good homes for  these gals and get to feeling better.

Would a transport or meeting be available?  I'm in Lafayette Indiana and I'd love to take the two older gals (not that they're old)  Princess and Abbie, as companions for my Jewels.

Also, is there an application or something I should send you?

Thanks

Oh my lord! I apologize for my above post! I had no clue you were in the emergency room! Wow, that's horrible that you are so allergic. My ratties give me hives but that's it, I don't know what I would do if I had to give away my babies due to my allergies- Worry.

If you need me to help you with anything, like transporting, let me know- I am near Milwaukee. I wish I could foster, I would in a heart beat- but I can't.  Roll Eyes Sad

Have you checked for any rat rescues in your area by any chance!?!

Have you talked to the breeder (or rescue) you got them from? Often they have a clause in the contract saying that if for any reason you can't keep the rats, you can return them (not for a refund, of course). Perhaps they'd be willing to take back a couple.

Well Princess & Abbie I found in a cardboard box in January in 33 degrees with a wind chill with some young male rats, so i took them home and  my friend took all the male rats because i am highly allergic to their smelll and i kept the two females, who where about maybe 15 days old at the time and i fed them baby food with wet nutro choice lite dog food and on and on, so no return contract there....  I am not looking for a refund, just some forever loving spoiling homes Smiley

ATTENTION KILLERSMOM AND REDZOOM-

I am willing to drive down to Illinois and pick up Ellie Spots, Luckie, and Frisky Whiskers and foster them for a while. We have a cottage in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. I was thinking the next time my family heads up to our cottage, Killersmom could meet us in Black River Falls and take them if she is still interested. We go up to our cottage frequently in the spring and summer. Is Killersmom still willing to adopt the three sisters!? Would this work or no!?
