I was just wondering how many of you feed your ratties baby food?  I feed subee's diet to my 3 boys as their "main" food. However when I'm at the grocery store, I'll usually pick up a jar or two also. I usually grab a meat and veggie one (like turkey and veggies) and a fruit one (like bananna). The boys don't get it as "food", more like a treat Cookie when they are out and we're playing. Was just curious

My girls have only ever had baby food to disguise their meds.

I got apple and peach. Ararat loved it and Ratatouille hated it.

Last week they got banana surprise which went down much better.

What did I learn...? I learnt that it's better to disguise baytril in cat food - my girls love it!

I give my rats baby food as treats on occassion. I just make sure it contains no added salt or sugar. My rats love it.

Gerber has an organic baby food that I give my girls as a treat.  It's also good after surgery or during illness when they don't want their mix.  My girls all licked it off my fingers during recovery.  It took them about 2 days before they were ready for solid foods again.  Banana, sweet peas, and sweet potato are good, they also liked the Gerber Graduates pasta filled with turkey, carrots & wild rice.

My mamas get Gerber Mixed Grain baby food (I buy boxes of flakes because they last longer) to bulk up the diet of themselves and the babies once the babies are starting to truck around the cage and make heavy demands on mom and her food.  I give it to babies until they leave the rattery or move into adult cages as well, and I don't see anything wrong with giving it as a treat to adults.

Yep, mine get it every couple of days.

Their favourite is creamy banana porridge.

I found this WONDERFUL product in the supermarket the other day... it's baby food already frozen into portions. Hyper It's the perfect size for my ratties! I don't need to freeze it myself! No more bins full of half-empty baby food jars that have gone off! HOORAY!

If I am out of Debbie D's Molasses mix or if my ratties want a change, I'll give them organic baby food mixed with their Green Mush. They really seem to like blueberry, mixed pasta, garden veggies, etc Smiley
