My "baby" Joey is the sweetest rat I've ever known in all these years of rat-having.  He follows me wherever I go and if I leave him in the play-pen (with my eye on him) to get a drink or a treat for him.... he sits up on the step stool I have in there and waits for me.   -- He'll also make a leap for me when he does finally see me.   He always comes when he is called and will eat his treats no matter where he is or what's going on around him. This means that he can be held in the palm of my hand upside down while he's munching.    --Joey also loves to lick and kiss....   he usually manages to give me a quick lick on the nose when he's on my shoulder.

My boy Peedee goes on walks around the house... and being large, he doesn't move too fast.  I crawl on my hands and knees behind him....  if I let the gap between us lengthen a bit... he'll come running back for me.  (his Spastic brother Punkin cannot be let out at the same time because he likes to make a run for the motion-furniture and needs a close eye on him... he watches from the cage and rattles the bars with his hands.)  --When they are both out in the playpen, I sometimes give them juice  out of shallow bowls.  Peedee laps it up with his little pink tongue but Punkin seems to think he is a monkey and scoops up handfuls of juice which he sips from his cupped hand.
too cute!!!

Yup, helicopter tails are cool. Wink

I think the cutest thing mine do is this: if I'm giving them a bit of food through the bars, if they can't quite get as much of it as they think they are entitled to, they reach out with their little hands and try to grab it.

This morning I gave Tarka a bit of ginger cake, and she was so desperate to get it, she reached out with her hands, then used one hand to hold the huge lump of cake in her mouth while she bumbled off to eat it. Sooooo Cuuuuute! Grin

Just wondering...

Do mothers (with HUMAN children) do this too? Talking about all the cute things their children do, what the kids did today, etc.? Is there a web forum out there somewhere where mothers talk about their children the way we talk about rats? Grin

Yes, they do.  My sister moderates a board for mothers that's very similar to this. Smiley  So Mom's can ask questions and tell how cute their kids are!
