Rat Climbing Frame

I found that a bit of left over carpet makes a great toy! My 5 love to run around and climb all over it. The other great thing is you can move it somewhere else really easily and make it into another shape!  Smiley The only problem is the hovering when they start to chew it Roll Eyes

So if you have any left over carpet...

So if you have any left over carpet...

Or the heavyduty cardboard rolls that the carpet comes on.

I raid the local carpet store's dumpster every month or so.  I cut a big tube up into cage sized lengths, and then either hang them from the top of the cage or place them in the bottom.  My ratties go nuts for them...they can both sleep in them and shred 'em...my ratties' two favorite passions Grin

A word of caution though...this should also apply to carpet scraps...let the cardboard air out for at least 24 hours outside.  They use formaldehyde in the processing of carpet...just to mention one of many chemcials...so it makes sense to let these harmful chemicals this disapate before giving them to your ratties.

Hovering, you say?!?!?!
Mandy - you must post photos of this magical carpet.  Smiley
I know the Dundee United football fans* are known as the Arabs, but this sounds more like Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, what with the flying carpets and all!  Cheesy

Paul

*That's real football, by the way - none of that US gridiron stuff where they only play for a minute at a time before they have to go off because they get so tired carrying all that armour around to keep them safe and sound (the poor wee over-paid souls!!  Grin

I did the rat image myself.
The quote is one I adapted - originally it refered to weasels!

Actually, I think it originally applied to turkeys.  Smiley
