Do I look like I know what I'm doing

I'm just double checking before I give it to the boys, but pumpkin and pumpkin seeds are fine for rats to consume right?

I know in commercial mixes pumpkin seeds are found.....maybe they are not full of nutrition or loaded with something that they dont need alot of but for a treat...I dont see why not.

Pumpkin? Are we talking pumpkin pie or uncooked pumpkin?

mmmm  pumpkin!  Yep, pumpkin is fine for rats.  Mine LOVE pumpkin seeds!  And there have been plenty of ratties IN pumpkin pics previously ... you KNOW they have to taste-test those pumpkins!!

oh yes pumpkin is YUMMY to rats.  I like to get those little ones and give each cage one.  The only think I would look out for is too much of a good thing can lead to too much of a bad thing coming out the other end, if you get my meaning Tongue

Rats love to play in pumpkins! I would do it again but my roommate has cats.

Put down a sheet in your room so the rats can play in the pumpkin this year. Smiley

Thanks guys. The boys went nuts over the goop I scooped out, as well as bits of the rind. I think the seeds were their fav. part.

NO. I already found a 3 day old apple core between my blankets. The last thing I need is pumpkin guts stashed in my back pack! Smiley

LOL, I love that photo. Don't like getting your hands dirty? Let the rats carve the pumpkin for you!  Grin

Rats also enjoy squash seeds, like those you scoop out of acorn and butternut squash.

Yes, they will not only inspect your work, they will make "adjustments" as they see necessary. Smiley These were taken three years ago with girls who have since passed on.
