I bought a pregnant rat and didn't know.  I am looking for good homes for 5 males and 2 females.  They will be done nursing around Dec 1st.  I am in Murfreesboro, TN (about 45 minutes outside Nashville)  Please let me know if you are interested as soon as possible.  I have no choice but to give them back to the pet store otherwise.  They are played with daily by a 4-year old and 2-year old.  They are sooo sweet! Blue Dumbo Big Eyes

More Info:  Out of the 5 boys,4 are white with black heads and black spots, 1 white with tan head and tan spots (pink eyes). The 2 females are white with black heads and spots.  They were born October 26th.   Anyone who takes any rats I will email them pictures of the day they were born and any other pictures they want.  The mother is also available.  She is going back to the pet store.  We didn't have time to bond with her before the babies were born.  We haven't had any problems with her in the last 2 weeks, but she was a little rough the day of and a little while after her delivery and I can't take that chance with my little kids.  We are keeping 2 of the babies (not included in the count).    The babies all seem and look healthy.  They are running around playing.  They are eating well and I've seen a few drinking from the water bottle.

I know everyone wants to see pictures.  Other than the description I gave up above, I don't know how else to describe them.  I don't know what different breeds look like and markings and ears?  If I could simply just download a picture from my computer, I would.  If anyone want to see a picture, I will email them one directly.  I don't have any web pages to download the pictures to and I don't want to sign up for any and have junk email coming to my personal email address.

I'm just outside of Memphis, TN.  I'll see if I can talk Devin into taking a few.  No promises, but I'll try.

They sound cute.

Born October 26 that means they need to be separated by November 30 so there's no chance of more wee ones. Wink

You always have a choice - PLEEASE don't send them or the mom back to the pet store! Call all your local shelters, many will take in small animals in addition to cats and dogs. Not only will they likely wind up as snake food at a pet store, it sends a message to the store that it's great to adopt out pregnant females to unwitting customers - they get free stock that way and make more money. I'm sure you can find a shelter that will take them.

Do you think you'll be able to post any pics, or tell us what kind of markings there are?
