Please help.  I purchased two female rats last April.  It has just been discovered that I am very allergic to them.  I have tried different medications and am presently on two different inhalers.  Nothing is helping.  I cannot handle them because I break out in itchy welts.  This is very hard for me to find new homes for them.  They need some socializing, as I have not been able to handle them.  They are about 9 months old and in good health.  I live in San Ramon, CA.  Their cage and all supplies will go with them.  Can someone help?  Please contact me either by e-mail or you can call me at 925-829-5554.   Thank you.

I live in San Ramon also. We have two males so I don't think it would work with my family.  But, I will ask around and let you know if I can find someone.

Thank you so much.  I really appreciate it.  I will give the new family all my supplies, along with their cage.  It's a very nice cage.  Thanks again.

Nancy,

Any luck yet?

Thought I would bump you up, maybe someone from the Bay Area will see it and respond.

I've had a few responses from my listing on craigslist.org, but when I ask for references, they don't seem to want to respond.  I want to be very careful and make sure they go to a good home.  It's been a bit difficult.  Thanks for your follow-up.  What did you mean in your note to me about  "bumping me up"?  I'm not too computer literate about this forum sites.  However, it must be a good thing, so thank you very much!

Nancy,

If you can get me pictures, I'll list them on my website, www.rabbitadoption.org/others.html

Anyone interested would have to fill out an application which I would forward to you for you to approve or disapprove.

I can't take them all in, but by helping owners network, I can help at least a little. Be sure to post on Petfinder.org also.

The term pocket pets is used to describe small pets other than cats and dogs. It in no way suggests that these small pets are "throw aways" or not as worthy of proper care as "larger pets!

Nancy,

Bump you up just meant it puts your listing back at the top with more chances to get a response.  Please keep us updated, hoping you find a wonderful home for them soon.....
