Finally!!! I got up the courage to hold Mumma.  For the last few days I have noticed a change for the better in her behavior.  She hasn't been lunging at my fingers when I feed her or try to touch the babies.  Its been a long 20 days since I have held her. The last time I held her was the day before she gave birth to her 12 beautiful rittens.  And as you all probably recall, the day she gave birth she took a bite out of my finger and I have been scared to approach her ever since.
WELLLL....tonight I was feeling optimistic and she was looking friendly and eager to explore.  I pondered for several hours over simply reaching in and taking her out and risking getting bit again.  I approached the cage, and she stood up on her hind legs and sniffed my hand, YES i resisted the urge to pull away.  I reached in and began to scratch behind her ears, overwhelmed and excited that she stayed still and enjoyed it.  Then I got my nerve up and I took hold of her and gently lifted her from the cage.  SHE DIDNT BITE MY FINGERS OFF!!! Grin  In fact she seemed rather happy to see me and be scratched.  After a few minutes she seemed to be getting antsy so I put her back and decided I will try again tomorrow.  Three cheers for my courage....RAH RAH RAH.  Thank god I still have ten fingers.  Wish me luck tomorrow.

That's fantastic!!  Keep trying a little every day and I'm sure she'll come around even more.
