Hi,
I don't want to take away from any help the rescue might recieve... but if you don't have any luck, please let me know - I am having a horrible time finding a good home for my ratties and, due to several complicated circumstances, I just *can't* keep them.

In fact, I actually have a limited amount of time until I won't really have any place to keep them... so, technically, it is somewhat urgent.
I'll cut and paste my "advertisement" below:
I have five ratties, two males and three females, available for adoption & I am located in Santa Barbara, CA. I may be able to deliver to virtually anywhere in or near the borders of CA.
-Males: Artemis & Poppy-
I adopted Artemis and Poppy, born from the same litter in September of 2004, from a good breeder in Santa Barbara in early October of 2004 to give Guru the chance of getting along with some babies before they understood territorial behavior... and he was still too agressive so the two brothers live together now. They both have awesome temperaments, very curious and sweet, and have always had excellent health. Artemis is variegated black and white masked and Poppy is a variegated black and white blaze split cap. They're both also very beautiful.
-Females: Delia, Yani, & Buttercup-
My rat, Honey, gave birth to a litter in December of 2002 and Delia is from that litter. So she is just over two years old and in *excellent* health. She tends to act a bit strange with new females but gets along with just about anyone after a bit of time. On the other hand, she seems to be absolutely terrified of males. Other than that, she is extremely affectionate with ratties and humans alike. She has always had excellent health. She is a large hooded beige.
I adopted Yani from a very nice ratty lover in Santa Barbara who's ratty, Daisy, accidentally concieved a litter when her friend was watching her ratties. Yani has a high energy nature but is very intelligent and *loves* her ratty family of girls and thoroughly enjoys chasing and being chased by human hands. She has always had very excellent health and a bit of a tummy because she *loves* to eat! She is a beautiful black and white variegated berkshire dumbo.
Buttercup was adopted with her brothers Artemis and Poppy, all from the same litter, at the same time - October 2004 and, although a little bit high energy, she has a darling temperament - loves her family of females and hoarding food. She likes people but seems to prefer scampering around with the girls. She and her brothers are still quite young and I expect them(especially her) to calm down as they get older, like most ratties. She is an absolutely beautiful variegated beige and white blaze cap.
-Why are they up for adoption?-
The reason these ratties are up for adoption is because I had a series of unexpected medical problems all of a sudden that kept me from work for a significant amount of time and I was forced to move in with my family due to my unexpected financial crisis. They will only allow me to bring one of them with me... and I'm also concerned that I suddenly can't afford a vet if anything should happen to more than one ratty..
-Any pictures?-
I just put up more pictures of everyone on my website. -
www.freewebs.com/mamaratty/ourcolony.htm-What do they come with?-
I cannot include the one, large cage I have them in(there is a divider for the genders) as it isn't exactly mine and the carpinter who made it wants it back, for his ratties, when my ratties are adopted. I can include a couple of food dishes, water bottles and some small litter boxes(approx. 6"x6") I've attempted to train them with(although not very successfully o_0).
-Anything else?-
They *must* have some sort of free roaming time/area as they're all used to running around my bedroom every day. They will go crazy if they don't get a chance to run around outside of the cage every day. They are also accustomed to getting fresh vegetables and fruits and breads every day so I'm sure they'd expect that, too, at least once in a while.
If you are interested in any of these ratties, please contact me as soon as possible with as much information about yourself/your ratty experience, etc. as you can.
Thank you!
