I was wondering if guinia pigs and rats could be kept together in a very large cage.

I wouldn't try it. Putting rats with any other rodent results in a fight, and even if you supervise, someone might get in a quick swipe before you can separate them.

I wouldn't try it either. There's no reason to risk one of them getting hurt. If they're lonely try some companions of the same type.

I think someone posted how they let their rat and guinea pig play on the old board. The rat seemed to enjoy it, but the poor piggy was terrified. I definitely wouldn't suggest it.

In short, NO. Piggies and rats are competitors for the same habitat, so would naturally fight one another. In some rare instances when babies have been raised together, they've gotten along. But for the most part, it's a bad idea.
