I Was A Rattie Mommy For 9 Years...

« on: December 03, 2004, 06:13:13 PM »

With their cage setup. Marissa's friend has no time for her rats anymore, it's the same situation as before with Keldar & Drizzit but this time with a different friend of Marissa's. The boys are sweet, one's shy, one is more outgoing. Both are tan & white dumbos and they come with their My first home cage, the biggest one. Please consider them, they are at Marissa's one bedroom apt right now and can be delivered to somewhere in Raleigh if need be. Or transport could probably be arranged by the people of this forum, we all seem to be good at that!!!  Wink

PS - Their names are Bernie & Mack

BUMP

Also want to add, Dave and I are traveling up to MA in Jan. (Jab 15th) so if anyone in the area wants to meet us at a rest stop off of 95 or somewhere in MA then it'd be doable. Marissa can't keep them and they deserve a good home.

Well, there's been an offer to take them in Alabama, can we arrange transport? The adopter said that she'd pick up from there Atlanta GA, so can we get 'em there? Cool

well atlanta is about a four or five hour drive for me, one way, but if you can arrange it, i can do it. (that is where i picked up my bonbon). i can do sundays or wednesdays no problem, except for this sunday, the 12th (niece's bday) and i have a dentist appt coming up. the date is at work, so i will find out which wednesday that is today. it may not be a problem though, depending on when we are to meet because the appt is for 7am.

too bad there isn't an IKEA down that way...

ok, the appt is tomorrow morning. so no big worries.

Reply from her...

Kelly,
What a WONDERFUL person to volunteer to drive that far to bring the boys to me!! I have had someone drive from there to Atlanta to buy some rats from me before but to help get rats to a home is incredible.

After checking my calendar for Wed. or Sun. the only day I have is the Wed. the 22nd or MAYBE tomorrow after her dentist appointment but I will like that would be too much for her. The only other thing is to way until after Christmas.

so sorry. i have been offline trying to get my computer back up. i did some stupid stunts again and had to reformat... then i had to go thru the data i had backed up to see if i could find my emails. but i am doing it, and it will be on the 22nd. i was going to pick up a rat for a friend but that person will be out of town on the 22nd. but i will be bringing the rats to furry friends, regardless.

Ok, cool! So, when shall we hand them over? I can do it anytime this weekend and possibley on Mon & Tues, but that's when we'll be X-mas shopping so I don't know how much free time I'll have after work. Although Marissa may be able to on Monday if that is the day you need.

Thanks again ARG!

The potentail adopter for these boys has adopted a rescue litter, she said if need be, she'll still take the boys, but she would prefer someone else adopts them, so are you still interested? Thanks!

This is a bump for the boys. They DO have a potential home, but she got a suprise rescue/foster litter so she may not have much time for the boys. I know she *will* take them, but if anyone else is interested who may have more time, please let me know.

PS - ARG, can you PM me her e-mail address? I lost it when I just had to re-do my computer. Thanks!

you must be reading my mind. i am trying to coordinate as many transports as i can at the same time and was gonna spend tonite contacting everyone.

i am thinking this week wednesday unless it is a bad time for FFR. but i am gonna pic up the boys, let me know if i should bring my transport cage, take them to FFR, and then swing down to a stop sorta along the way home and pic up a boy that has been reserved for jessiree.

Ok, so as far as I know the date is Sunday the 29th. The boys will be picked up from Marissa's house either on Sat night on before 4 am on Sunday. Then they'll go to FFR.

ARG, I have no great travel cages, but the boys' cage does fold down so it could probably go in your trunk if you want to bring your travel cage.

weeeee...  i have a civic hatchback (which i really need to clean out so it stops looking like my bedroom). i have my folding cage, as well as a cat carrier, either i can use in a pinch.

and i think you need to get a different calendar. sunday is the 30th. Grin

i guess i should pick up the boys saturday so marissa can sleep in.

i will be laying out my final plans probably sometime today.

last chance for anyone needing a SC or GA / NC transport next week...

Oh...I missed the boat on this one. I do live in NW Metro Atlanta and would be willing to help with transport sometimes. I'll look out for postings. Glad everything worked out!!!!

this adoption/transport is now complete. the ice storm was not a problem as the streets were actually dry. i didn't get pulled over once because i actually managed to stay within a resonable speed. and i never realized how many surveillance cameras georgia had to monitor speed before.

the boys really got a great mom and dad.

hey angelratgirl-
great job transporting. I am glad to hear that the boys got a wonderfull new home. angelratgirl really does so many great things for ratties and get little back for it except the thanks and love of the ratties and those involved. She is a wonderfull person that I have had the chance to work with many times - she has given many of my rescue babies wonderfull new beginnings under her care and transport.
you go girl! laugh
