Would you buy this home made rattie bed?
«

Well, before I get busy sewing my little heart out on what time I rarely have to do so....I would like to know if anyone would buy a hammock like this. I posted it with pictures of my FN in the FN thread, but not sure how many people saw it. I got a response from someone who wants to trial it for me.
Basically, what I will do is pre-make them and sell them. I won't be taking custom orders for a while (until the fiancee leaves for the Navy, so I can work less!). Since getting my two little rescues, I may keep the little boy and I will want to neuter him if so...so that is pushing me to make and *hopefully* sell these.
I use cotton or flannel, matched with Alpine fleece for the interior. Nice and warm for the winter! It is hung to the top of the cage by a metal shower curtain hook through a grommet. You can also have it free standing. The pieces of fabric is cut 20 inches by 20 inches, then I sew this contraption, called the "Star Dome Home"...
This fits up to 4 rats, or more if they are small females or babies

That is really cute. My little corky would love it. She's the only one of my girls who like hammocks, the other two sleep outside her cube.

I was thinking I would sell them for $10 each, plus shipping. Postage would depend on your area code.

I'd definitely buy that if I had rats and you were willing to ship to Germany :3

I ship internationally quite a bit, and if you're only purchasing 1 or 2 hammocks (sometimes as many as 3), it costs pretty much the same as sending something within the US.

"hammock ho"
Chelsey you're hilarious... But I agree, I like to try them all. I'd give something like that a try. My girls like more enclosed spaces although my boys like their open hammies and double deckers.

I better get on the sewing machine tonight! I'm having a little trouble with my grommet punch tool...uhh...I don't know how to use it properly. I'll have to figure that out tonight, too
. Maybe there is some type of tutorial online on how to use it? My MIL gave it to me and didn't teach

My fat boys want to know if you could you make it a little bigger for the porky mcthunderbutt crew?
That thing is so darn cute. I could see them all fighting for the same spot in it! I would probably hang it up, so 2 boys could chill in it like a hammie. Price sounds great!

I am sure I could make it larger, but I have three chubby boys who fit very well inside it...with some room to spare
. They always seem to pile together no matter the space, hehe.
I'm going to start sewing some tomorrow and hopefully have some up for grabs by the end of the weekend. I'm slow on the sewing machine still, so they take me a little while to make

Lots more beds coming this week! I got some great fabric tonight. I try to buy fabric that other hammock makers already have, so that you can match patterns if you'd like

Oooh I like that a lot! And I like the print on the fabric too!
I think $10 is a very fair price for it also.
