Hey folks, I may have gotten a blessing in disguise...I had to take Bridgette in for a tiny tip degloved tail...in talking to my vet about meds the girls have been on and going back on Baytril for one of them, he thinks that I may have a virus going through my colony, and that the antibiotics have been keeping whatever secondary infections at bay.  Everyone is on the up swing...I mean it never got to where I was even close to worrying about losing anyone, but when I mentioned that I might be getting some new girls, he was kind of hesitant about it, so I think I need to bow out...I think it might be a good idea to not to bring anything in for three months...I just think it would be in everyone's (ratwise) best interest not to take chances.  I certainly hope in the future that I can get some sweet ratties from you folks, you all have been so awesome in helping me out.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.

Please keep NON-detailed information on the forum.  If you need more info, please use PM's or Email.  SaniT should have all the details of who, what, where, etc.  The forum is too public, and we do NOT want to give out exact locations, descriptions or any other personal information.

Sorry, I should have posted that last night when DP mentioned it to me, but I hadn't realized anyone other than me had put any specific details down, so I just deleted mine.

Sorry that you can't work things out CGG, but as was said, there are always rats needing homes and I am almost always taking in some...so maybe next transport we can work something out.  Hope your rats get better soon Smiley

Ok,...this is probably my last check before I head out tomorrow....so let me make sure everything is correct for the transport.

First of all, I know one of you is planning on sending the adoption fees via snail mail, but I have yet to gather everyone elses.  If you are part of the transport that is starting tomorrow I would appreciate recieving your adoptions costs before 8am tomorrow.  Thanks in advance.

Below is who I am packing up and shipping out...lol.  Let me know if everything looks right.

Meeting up in GA with Taku and Daratter with the following:

Taku-Beige M #2, Beige M #3

Daratter-Mismarked M #1, M #2, F #1

FF-M #1, M #5, M #8

Nan-Dad, F #4, F #7

**(Later this month transport to Tunes-Beige M #1, M #6, M #7, M #10, F #2, F #6)**

I don't know about other people's transport cage situations, so...to try and make it easier to know which rats belong to who and keep them seperated by sex, I will most likely be heading to wal-mart this evening to get some small rubbermaid type containers which I can use (and pass on for the transport) to house these guys.  Otherwise I would need about 6 cages in my car....lol.

I am also going to be giving everyone a REAL good looking over tonight to make sure everyone is good to go AND I will be making sure none of the females have grown into males (so to speak).  With as many as there were and so many looking alike, I just don't want to send anyone the wrong thing...heh.

Liz,
Thanks again for all your hard work.  I'll be looking forward to greeting my new ratties.  FF has promised to contact me when she gets home with my three.  I'll send out the check first thing Monday morning.  You're the greatest.

I hope everyone had safe trips today with the rattie transport.  I also hope everyone likes their new babies Smiley  Please let me know how everyone is doing as soon as you can...and what you guys have decided to name them...

I thought I would post this pic cause I thought it was VERY cute.  This is my 5 yr old nephew playing with the babies last weekend....they were crawling ALL over him and he thought it was the best thing in the world and was giggling and kissing them Smiley

BTW....Taku thats one of your boys & the other (I think...he just grabbed the first two that came to him) is Tunes m#7 Smiley

That pic is just adorable!! Yep..that's one of my big eared boys! After much discussion and debating last night over dinner, we came up with the names Stohli and Chopan after two brands of Vodka..lol. The "Vodka" brothers. Chopan (pronounced SHOW-PAN)  is the one with the lt. beige mismarked head, and Stohli (pronounced STOW-LEE) has the lt beige hooded head.
Teresa and her husband ADORED the babies, and everyone's trip went without any upsets. But I will tell you, Mike and I almost "lost" daddy along the way. We fell in LOVE with him, we were going to pretend he wasn't there and sneak him home! He's such a great rattie, so friendly and lovable. He was bruxing and boggling on Mike's shoulder while we were waiting for Teresa. He's such a love bug. Nan is lucky to be getting him. Teresa's husband fell in love with him too, he may "accidently on purpose" get "lost" at their home!!
The boys are up in quarantine. They ate and slept once they got into their cage. I left them alone and checked on them off and on. They're so little! They'll go for their vet checks in a little over a week, right before q-tine is up. I hope everyone gets along! I'll post pics in a few days.
Liz, thank you again for these wonderful boys. I played with the while we were driving, none are skittish. What you did was a wonderful thing!

I know!!!  I told Nan that I wanted to keep him SOOOOOO bad!!!  But, I knew if he was going to a loving home it made no difference whether it was mine, yours, or hers...lol.  He will be a big spoiled boy and happy no matter what.  Plus, if I kept every single rat I fell madly in love with....well, honestly I would have 50+ rats here and wouldn't be able to continue doing what I love...placing "lost" animals in wonderful new homes. Okay you ratnappers.... Don't hold Daddy Rat ransom.  I kept telling myself I didn't need another boy rattie but something about that cutie just stole my heart.  You're making it very hard to wait.   Liz, thanks so much for going to all the trouble to get these cuties to us.  I feel so lucky to be getting these sweathearts.  What a waste it would be if Liz hadn't adopted them.  Take care.  I promise I'll post pics of mine when I get them.  Teresa is being nice enough to keep them until I can get them.  I think maybe I'd better hurry. LOL

LOL nan, you're right you better hurry. I'm tempted to go steal him myself. My husband and Teresa's husband are in love with Daddie-O. He's a special guy.  One of those very loving, personable, bruxing, boggling, playful rats! I enjoyed him the entire trip!! He has a red ball with a bell in it that he adores. Liz sent it with him. You'll see. All the babies are cute and sweet! You need to hurry and get them!!

The suspense is killing me!  You could meet me at Teresa's and get some more boys. LOL  I'm about to be in soooo much trouble.  Surely after being married for 34 years my husband wouldn't throw me out because of a few extra ratties would he?

Yellow Cute Laugh

You guys are SO funny!

I know exactly what you mean though, they are all such love butts and even though they had a rough start, they really appreciate every moment they have been given.

And Nan, you will LOVE daddy.  He is a bit confused with everything that has happened (moving, seperated from the babies, car rides, etc) but he is just the most AMAZING boy.  I fell for him that first night with the picture taking Smiley  I sent the ball because he is OBSESSED with it and he digs and burries himself too.  You will find yourself watching him in complete laughter.  A real character he is....

I hear there has been a bit of sneezing...if anyone finds that these guys are ill, please let me know.  It could have been the litter they were on, the stress, who knows....but I would very much appreciate any news and updates just in case so I can pass them on.

Also, PLEASE let me know how the babies and DAD are fitting it
