I'm hoping this is okay to put here....it has to do with a home for rats.
A fellow goosemooser is asking for help with her 2 boy ratties that need to find a good home.  I told her I would be willing to take them, but I don't get my Ferret Nation until Christmas.  The cage they're in now is not so much the ideal cage for them and the cage I have with my 2 boys in it is only fit for 3.  I don't think I want to cram 4 ratties in there for 2.5/3 months.  BUT I really want to help her out.  My husband and I are on a really tight budget ( think little to NO money  Puppy Dog Eyes:) so I'm wondering if anyone has anything cheap/free or something I can borrow!  I really want to help her out, so her boys don't get put in a pet store.  We're both in Portland, OR.  Anything would be great!  Please!  Blue Dumbo Smile

I hate to admit but, I would consider that.   Yellow Cute Laugh  I would place a wanted ad on craigslist or freecycle for a cage.

If you check Petsmart,  some of the cages are on clearance because they have changed their inventory.  Worth checking.  They had a Super Pet critter cage (not great but no so bad) with the built in green wheel for $40 down from $70 at the Petsmart near me.  It would hold over until Christmas.

There are some reasonably priced "large guinea pig" (store bought) cages on the Portland Craigslist that would be suitable for short-term housing. You can also post on Freecycle and see if someone locally can help you out!

 Tongue Hehe thanks guys!
I'm going to check out a garage sale today.  A lady said she had a cage that would fit 2 rats (crosses fingers) for $10!  I think that would help!
I'll let you know how it goes.

Or, you could just have two rat cages until Christmas.  Doing intro's with a new cage is in my opinion, so much easier!  Smiley
