Long story short, I brought home Callie about three weeks ago to be a companion to my other girl, Myla. I admittedly made a bad decision in getting her from a pet shop that has not always known what it's doing. And hey, surprise surprise, she was pregnant, and on Wednesday I had ratlets. Now I've got 9 babies who'll need homes in a few weeks.
They were born June 1, so they should be ready to leave mom in early July. They're all happy and healthy, peeping like little birds, crawling out of the nest, etc. Mom is a blue hooded; don't know what the father looked like. Six of the babies are hooded, and three are some light solid color (can't tell what yet).
I'm in DC proper, and I don't have a car, but I can bring them as far as the Metro goes, or adopters are welcome to come pick them up. Please, please, take one of these adorable babies home. I have 6 adults, and that's a great number-- but I really can't handle 15 rats! If you're interested, or have questions, PM me, or email

So cute!

From an early sexing (hard to tell at 1 week old) it looks like there are 4 males and 5 females.
