I've read lots about girls loving their wheels. I know Wodent wheels are the best. What I need to know is if males like wheels too. I've heard that males are prone to being squishy, so I figured getting them a means of exercise early would be wise... My boys are both little 5 week old babies now, to be neutered in a couple weeks after quarantine. If I get them a big enough wheel to run in when they're adults will they even be able to make it move now? I also have three adult girls, will they destroy the wheel before the boys even get a chance?

Thanks,
Tegan

All I know is that I have a bunch of boys and NONE of them ever showed interest in their wheel, even when I got one for them at 5 weeks of age.  From what I have heard, some males may initially show interest in the wheel but as they get older and lazier they lose interest.  Not sure about the girls.  Hope this helped Smiley

I only have two boys but they both use their Wodent Wheel regularly.  I thought they might slow down as they got older but they're pretty much full grown now and I still hear it going quite often.

Each rat is individual, so you can never tell from one to the next.  I'd always have one available, just in case.

I guess my plan will be to get the big one so that nobody grows out of it and start it in with the baby boys. Hopefully they'll be able to make it move and get addicted. Then, by the time they start living with the girls, hopefully the girls will realize it's for running in and not chewing. If it doesn't get used and/or gets destroyed really quickly then I won't replace it but as long as there's an interest I'll be sure to provide one. Worst case scenario: I'm out a little money, but best case I have a cage full of rats with ample exercise in a fun toy! Smiley I'll order one asap.

Thanks,
Tegan

Yep, go for the Wobust size!  That should accomodate rats of ANY size!  Smiley
