Hi everyone.....as most of you know, I work part-time at PETCO in King of Prussia. I have listed many rats before and get little response so I doubt I'll see any now (I guess there's no rattie owners near me  Cry ), but I figured I have to try!!

I now have 18 ratties that were dropped off....I'm running out of time keeping them out of the feeder bins.

Here's the list:

Mama and 10 babies - all PEWs....I just seperated the babies as they are about 5 weeks old.

6 girls were dropped off last night - ages stated at between 6 months and 2 years. ( I have the owners info. and can call and get more details if needed.) These are beautiful girls and very friendly. There is a champagne color, a self, 2 himis, and 2 hooded....they look to be in good shape although a tad skinny. It seems their diet consisted of cabbage, poor quality rat feed and organic peanuts....yikes.

There are 2 more but I have an adopter coming on Friday *fingers crossed*.

I have 19 at home now and I'm struggling to give them proper attention so I really can't take more...it wouldn't be fair to them. If you can help me to save at least one from the feeder bins I will be forever indebted to you!!! I will keep buying them as much time as possible with Management.

Thanks,

They're not gonna put the grown up girls in the feeder bins, are they?

Petco policy is to put these animals up for "adoption" - in other words, they're free with a little "contract."  By company policy, they cannot sell "drop off" animals - at least according to the numerous times I've called complaining about a local Petco.  I hope they're adopted though.   Puppy Dog Eyes:

Unfortunately that's not necessarily true....there is a policy (for employees) that states the General Manager has final say on what happens to any of the owner turn in animals. It's their little loop hole so they can do what they want. They try to adopt the animals out, but if we get a bunch of rats/mice dumped on us, I guarantee they'll be in the feeder bins.

It should only be an hour trip one way from King of Prussia, PA to Newark, DE. Or vice-versa! Just so anyone knows.

Unfortunately for me, each place is over a 3-hr. drive, and I can't do it right now because I may have to do another rat road trip of my own soon.

Hi Sheppie,

I'm in philadelphia.  I'm home on winter break right now, but I can transport a bunch of ratties from philadelphia to newark if the person from serindipity can meet me at the newark septa train station the first week in January.

Let me know if I can help!

What is the status on these ratties?  Are they in the feeder bins yet?

I can HELP if its not too late!!!!!!!!

I'm going to DC saturday (13th) and I can take a carrier full to DC if the recipient can meet me.  We're going from Philly down I95, one of the rest stops would be a great meeting spot.  I'd need to get the ratties dropped off at my house in West Philly by friday afternoon.  I have a carrier that i can use to take them.  Its a big cat carrier.  Let me know if this would work out!

All of the ratties have been adopted and/or rescued by Faithful but Forgotten rescue in Pittsburg.
