I'm not sure what I should do...When I got Winx (my first rat) I had her on her own for about a month before I got Pixie. In that month we (very slowly) bonded since I was able to be with her and take her out of her cage and keep her on my lap. She got used to me  and even though it took soo long it was worth it. Once I got Pixiel and the two were out free ranging my room or bed Winx was coming up to me but Pixie would never do that. I found it hard to get a hold of either one of them when they were out together. And now that Winx is gone and I have Pixie together with Jazzy and Bella (8 week old dumbos) I can't seem to bond with any of them. Pixie is trouble all the time and a biter and is so hard to catch. The only times I've been able to pick her up was on my bed when it was just her alone (before I got my two new rats). Now I can't even get near her. And I know the two little ones are new ut they were so calm when I got them 2 weeks ago or so and it seems like now they're getting really really sittish. I've picked up both of them but they are also a pain to catch.
Today during free range time it took me about 15 minutes just to get Bella to go back into the cage, otherwise she would have stayed under my chair forever. What should I do??? Do i need to take each one out individually and try to get closer to them that way, since when they are together they just run away if I even move. I haven't been able to pick up Jazzy and Bella much recently - they've just gotten to squirmish, but I don't want to not try to hold them since then they won't get used to me.
This forum is the reason I still have rats. I really love the ones I have but sometimes it gets so hard especially after I've been trying so hard - I just get discouraged. Suggestions? Help!

Sometimes a bit of one on one without the crowd is very good.  Babies at that age start off sooo cuddly and soft and then they become skittish and freaky..hahaha.  Thats just babies.  Everything "scares" them (just an excuse to jump up in the air and run)...I lie on the bed and let them explore me.  The babies would probably love a bit of gentle handwrestling, don't expect any of them to stay still for petting.  Tongue  Pixie bites?  Is it nipping or real biting?  Does she whirl on your hand or just slip over and sneaky nip?
