You're right, I don't know much about the large animal hospital. But from what I've gathered, the more speicialized you get within Purdue's veterinary services, the better bang for your buck you get. Patients going in for chemo, or highly intricate surgeries receive miraculous care (for a pretty penny, mind you).

But the small animal clinic in general, for the day-to-day exams, shots, etc? I've heard a lot of complaints from our own clients who used to take their animals there. I myself stopped using them after I brought them a sneezing rat and they told me it was just allergies and to switch his bedding (I was using aspen). No mention of antibiotics, and there was me as a new rat owner not knowing a thing. After the sneezing continued once he was on Carefresh, I finally took him to Dr. Becker, and she rolled her eyes at what I'd been told by PUSAC. She was the one who educated me about myco, and how dangerous respiratory infections in a rat can be if left untreated.

Hmm. A friend of mine is using Purdue for his kittens and dog. I wanted him to use my vet (Dr Robertson at Petsburgh) but he is using carecredit and Petsburgh won't accept it. There are other places that do though, I know Pets and Vets as Partners does and Ive seen Dr Loud from there before. Maybe I should let him know there are a lot of bad things said about Purdue..
