How could I forget that a local petstore sells marting  I got a 680 for a lot less than I would elsewhere.  I checked with martins to be sure that they were the real deal.

I tried to get a martin's but they were too far on backorder.  My new additions will be coming home at the end of the week/the beginning of next week.  They will be two boys about 4 months old. Here's a link:  http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441777052&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302047888&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023695&bmUID=1155136842231&itemNo=21&Nao=12&In=Small+Pet&N=2047888&Ne=2

I liked the cage they had at the shelter, but I can't find it anywhere online.  I might stop by the shelter to see what cage they had & where they got it (it looked new).

Congratulations on your new additions.  I actually really like the superpet cage, and think you will be very pleased with it. Smiley  Some people cover the levels to make it easier to clean.

How old are your rats you are getting?  If they are babies then they might be able to get out of that bar spacing. Smiley  If they are just weaned, the I would say that they definitely will.

They will be two boys about 4 months old.

four month old boys should be ok.  i have two three month old boys in one of my superpets cages right now and if they realllllly reallllllllllllly wanted to, they might be able to squeeze out.  one thing i've noticed about boys, though, nine times out of ten they don't even bother to try.

ah!  just say your thread in rattails....  adorable boys!  and yea, i would definately say they're big enough that wire spacing won't be a problem!

I've been wondering about these myself.... about the wire spacing, that is... not that I'd worry about my girls too much, they LOVE their cage Roll Eyes

I have a super pet cage. My guys are about 5 months and are just getting to the point where they can't squeeze through. Another month and I can move them back in!
Just watch them. You may have to reinforce it with wirecloth for a month or two but its a fantastic cage!

Grrrr!
I also Love this cage. But as far as rats go mine are more racy and smaller built. I bought that cage from petsmart for my rats and they slid right through when I tempted them. Most people I know though have bigger rats, especially males. The only really good thing is if you keep your reciept Petsmart will return it even if it was purchased online. You could also modify it with some kind of wire. Im just not that handy
