I have two sister rats, a little less than six weeks old. They are both sweet and friendly, and they seem to get along well. I know playfighting is fine as long as there's no blood, but often they will squeak a lot when playfighting and sometimes when there sitting down one will give the other a little nip (or rough grooming) and make the her squeak. I don't think I've ever seen blood (I think there was one little nip on one of there ears, but I'm not sure ^^;). Am I just being paranoid? On another note, sometimes I will hear a sneeze, but it's never one after another and I don't think either one of them has ever sneezed more than three times in one day (I can't be totally sure of that though). I've only had them a week, and they've just been moved into a new cage, new bedding, food etc. Should I be worried?
EDIT: Just now, they were curled up in there sleeping box, and one of them gave a squeak. I couldn't see them, so I don't know what happened or which one it was. Is that normal?

Babies.  Very normal.  LOL.  Silly little girls.  The powergrooming is because one is dominant and proving it.   Do they popcorn around the cage while they play?  Isn't that the funniest thing??   Heart

That energetic, bouncy playing startled me too when I got my 2 little girls... one second, they were being so quiet I could almost have forgotten they were there, the next it sounded like the cage was exploding! They do get pretty rough, and I've heard quite a few noisy squeaks, but neither of them has been hurt. So yeah... I'd say you're been just a little bit paranoid! Grin

If it's just occasional sneezing, I wouldn't worry about that... mine have done that too. (Which reminds me, I need to do some dusting around here...)

I sometimes hear a random squeak when they're laying down together, too... I'm assuming it's just one of them trying to get into a more comfortable position, and the other one not very happy about being shoved like that when she's trying to sleep. So, that's normal too.

Hm  Undecided, I just picked Ivy out of their cage, and I saw a little bit of blood on her leg. I  can't find a wound though, but it looks like there might be a little nip on her ear. It's just a *tiny* little bit of blood though, and she doesn't seem in any pain, but the only way she could have gotten that (that I can think of) is being nipped by donna. Should I be worried now? (lol, even I think I sound parinoid >_>Wink
