The Poodah Pack!!

WWW
« on: August 21, 2006, 04:39:21 PM »

A little over 2 months ago, I rescued a little boy about to be food... that would be my big boy, Poodah

He's doing so well and checks out with my Exotics Vet with a clean bill, so I think it's time to get him some friends... preferably girls (that I will have spayed at the correct age and BEFORE unsupervised contact)
Poodah lives in a 24h x 30l x 20w bi-level enclosure with lots of toys, hammocks, blankies, socks, etc. He has CareFresh for litter and is cleaned weekly. His diet consist of lab block, chow and my own organic mix of fruits, veggies, yogurt, pasta, grains and legumes, chicken breast. All is supplemented with Nutri Cal

He is very well socialized... a little too much, maybe.... and gets a LOT of attention from me throughout the day.

If you have a young (in the 3 to 6 month range) female or two, but not more, we would be very interested in hearing about her.

Appx. 14 weeks old .... he's learning to type  Blue Dumbo Smile

I can vouch for all of those options listed above. If you want to stay in SF, go to Animal Care and Control on Harrison and 15th St: there are 2 brown berk girls- Lilian and Chloe- who are cousins/sisters; both are definately under 6 months. There is also a lone girl, Shaina, who is a black and white hoodie- she's tiny, and quite young. I volunteer there, and all of these girls are sweeties, with varying amounts of timidity, since they are not handled as much as they would be if they lived in a home. All get spayed prior to adoption. I've also adopted from Rattie Ratz, and can highly recommend them.

Thanks to both of you! I will check on Lilian and Chloe tomorrow. They sound like they need a good loving 'mommy' to bring them around; and Poodah definitely needs some companionship besides me  Blue Dumbo Smile
Thanks again. I'll be sure to check out the other links also.

I talked to Charlie about the girls. How long will it take after they are spayed, before I can bring them home? Will they need semi-permanent separate housing for recovery and such? I know they will need QT and introductions. I'm just wondering what size housing they will need and for how long.
I'm really excited! I hope this works out for all of us Smiley

If it doesn't work out with those girls, I have three girls (2 months old) available from a recent litter. You can see them on the current and planned litters page at www.sassbooks.com/rats.
