In June of 2006, animal control officers in Petaluma, CA discovered over 1000 pet rats being kept in horrible conditions in a 1-bedroom house. The rats were all confiscated by the Petaluma Animal Shelter. Unfortunately, most of the rats did not make it out of the shelter alive. While in the shelter the genders were not separated, which resulted in a lot of pregnant females. Rat lovers all over pulled together to save the remaining rats. Now we need people to open up their hearts and homes to these sweet rats.

There are Black & Agouti, in Hooded, Self, and Berkshire, and some Fawn, Beige, and Cinnamon. In total there are 37 babies in need of good homes. There is an adoption application and a small adoption fee. There are 5 litters of babies, born between 7/13 and 7/22. Will be rehomeing them when they are 6 weeks old.
If you are interested in adopting please let me know. I am willing to travel anywhere between Lower Mainland BC, and Central OR, and may be making a trip to Spokane.
Website with pictures should be up soon, I will post again when that is finished.
