Granola might be a little high in fat for a staple too, to be honest. Yeah, if the dried fruit isn't dehydrated or dried without sugars (sold in many coops or natural foods stores) I'd be worried. I'm not a fan of nuts as a staple either.
Nature's Promise cereals are good. I buy my cereal based on the amount of vitamins, minerals, protein and and soluble fiber it has. My favorite cereals are Health Valley Heart Healthy and Empower! (both high in vitamins), Peace Cereal Heart Goodness, Kashi 7 Grain puffed grain cereal and Kashi Heart to Heart.
I give my kiddos HempPlus Granola on yogurt and Mother's Peanut Butter Bumpers as a treat sometimes too.

I also like to include Just Veggies dehydrated veggies and sugar-free preserved cranberries for urinary tract health. And flax seeds. And wheat germ.
Yeah, can you tell I'm a health food nut?
