We have a big baby belly! *New Pic's at Auntie Stacey's!!!*

PVR Raja a Mink Variegated Rex Dumbo with Lightening Blaze and JM Joe Perry an Agouti Self Dumbo, were on honeymoon for a week.  I have been so excited about this litter for about three months, and after one failed attempt to breed them, i am happy to say that we have a *Big* belly!   Raja is due the 11th at the earliest, so i expect her to get even larger.   Both of these rats have excellent type, so i expect a wonderful litter.  I'm looking forward to seeing how well their ears turn out, considering both parents have GREAT dumbo ears. 

I'm sure some of you remember Nebula's litter and my camera breaking.  Well, I have a camera now, and you can expect me to share lots of pic's this time around!

i'm going into baby overload, with raja being due any day, and olivia (SSR's girl) is due today i believe! maybe i'll finally get my babies!

Raja is HUGE! She started to nest yesterday but has not finished quite yet.  It might not be for another couple of days.  I am guessing either tomorrow or Thursday.

My computer died an unexplainable, sudden, and unexpected death!     
Right now i am attempting to steal my mothers old computer.  Its ancient, but i'm hoping it will work until i can get mine fixed (which i dont even know if its fixable!)

But anyway, no babies yet! BUT, before i left she was very restless.  She is huge, although i havent been able to get any pictures yet today, for obvious reasons! I didnt want to leave her, but this was the only chance i had to come get this old computer from my mom, because my car is also dead

I'm not having the best of luck right now, so i'm just hoping Raja brightens my day with a nest full of happy eepers when i get home!

No babies yet.  I'm not expecting her to last through the day, my guess is she'll have them by this evening.  She can't hold them in there forever!

I can feel the little babies bouncing around in there, so they want to come out!

WE HAVE BABIES!!!!! I'm not sure how many, but more than 12 at this point, and still counting.  I dont know if i'll be able to update again tonight, but definitely in the morning!

YAY! more than 12?? that's a BIG litter (right? i don't have much experience with litters)!
and she did have them on friday the 13th! if you don't have a theme already, it should be like.. something to do with the day, since it's such a big supersticion.
i can't wait to watch them grow up

I get to tell the baby news!!

Raja had some difficulty at the end of her labor and then didn't want to nurse the babies at first. Amber was up all night keeping the babies warm and gave them some KMR. Eventually Raja's momma instincts kicked in and she's taking care of all the babies. They are nursing and have milk bellies. 

7 girls, 6 boys (tentative count cause Amber's had about 2 hours sleep lol) 13 babies on Friday the 13th!!

All but one of the girls are standards, and all but one of the boys are rex!  Mainly light eye'd babies!

I want to thank Stacey for updating for me, since i got a late start this morning and had somewhere to be.  It was a looong night, and i got a pitiful few hours of sleep, i was tossing and turning the whole time and got up every few hours to check on them.  I'm not even sure i did more than doze off here and there!  Thankfully Raja decided she wanted to be a good mother (about 8 hours after having them!) and they are all eeping and are really squirmy and pink!

A few of the babies are bruised, but other than that all looks good so far! One babies "belly button" has a piece of bedding stuck to it, and we are watching that closely.

Tomorrow i will be counting sexes again, just to be sure.  I had a hard time with telling the rex from the standards, for some odd reason.  Probably the lack of sleep.  But i'm almost sure i got it all right!
