A friend of mine has a hairless rat that has a protien sensitivity. She has a little bump from too much protien. She's had one before and it wentr away within a week or so. This one is staying for like... a while... it's been a month or so. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Or how to speed recovery?

She's fed Suebee's and an assortment of veggies. As far as it maybe being a cyst... I wouldn't know. I've never dealt with a cust before. I can tell you that is loos like... hum... almost dime-sized and hard. It has a small red spot in the very middle of it. It doesn't seem to bother her unless you poke at it. Oh, by the way, she's a hairless, so we can see it really well. It's not an open sore at all. It's just in the skin, like it will move around. It's not an internal muscle or organ thing. So.... we are just worried since it isn't going away, it may be something that look similar but is different or potentially harmfull.

Hairless ratties are prone to keratin filled cysts.  Something to do with their smaller not as developed hair follicles.

Hairless rats are prone to skin, eye, and kidney problems.  I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was something skin related.  Can your friend take the rat to the vet?  Also look at the link lilspaz provided.  Smiley
