Does anyone have this cage?

The dimensions are: 24" x 24" x 41.5"  . I want to upgrade to something bigger, but I'm not sure if this would be suitable. There would be modifications also, I'd probably add wire mesh to the outside if the slats are too big.

Just wanted to see if there were any gripes/loves about it. (I found mostly every Superpet cage but this one in the search)

Slap Maxwell is selling one just like that in this thread.  You could PM her and find out what she thought of it.

I have some of my kids in this cage.  The size is ideal to house a decent number of rats but still is small enough to keep on a table.  Assembly is very easy, it just unfolds and snaps together.  The bad thing is that the levels are too long and they sag because there is no support.  Also, I don't like that there is no solid level in the cage, only half levels.  The spiral thing takes up a lot more room than a ramp or tube would and the rats aleady chewed it to pieces.  The top has a partial door, where most other superpet cages have the entire top that opens.  All of my rats are housed in superpet cages and this is my least favorite cage.

i like this cage Smiley the slide thing is trash, it's too unstable for rats, i don't know how they expect bouncy ferrets running in and out of it. yes, the levels sag, but it dosn't really matter too much. the gutters in the level get annoying, but they do work, and a quick whip is all it needs, unless someone has been dragging their tail in pee, or had a loose poo Sad

you can still make a full level by putting 2 levels together. you can order more levels from super pet, although pricy. the wire spacing is perfect for grown boys, less wires mean les scrubbing.

I almost bought that exact cage. I was looking for an upgrade but if you read the reviews on the petco website, a lot of people have issues with it...my biggest issue (from researching it) is that the cage is more vertical. I wanted my boys to have both horzonital and vertical rooms as I have 2 older boys who are slowing down and 2 younger boys who are zoom-a-rangs...so I decided in for a penny, in for a pound and got the superpet multilevel ferret home.

It was on sale at petco.com plus the shipping was free so I only paid $156 total...in fact it arrived today..guess what I'm going to be doing later

I had that cage and I hated it. After three months I bought another one that I like much better, you can see it here: http://www.ferret.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=650759+5LX&Category=

The reason I hated the cage was the doors were too small and I couldn't clean the whole bottom pan because I wasn't able to reach in far enough. Also the shelves sagged in the middle and they were too hard to remove for cleaning. The circular slide broke and couldn't be fixed.

My new super pet cage is easier to clean because its not as deep as the other cage and the shelves don't sag in the middle.

Hope this helps!

The cage calculator says it will hold six rats and that is what I have in there now - six boys. I have also purchased extra super pet shelves and I added another almost whole second level and a one shelf with a ferret tube. Every week to ten days when I pull it apart for cleaning I rearrange the shelves for the boys so they won't get bored with the same set up. I usually have two hammocks in there too, but I took them out to wash them. Also have a wheel in there, but its not visible in the pic. Here is a pic:

I just measured the spacing with a ruler, its a little under one inch. Same spacing as on the 2 x 2 tall cage pictured at the top of this thread. I have all boys and they aren't able to escape. I saw this cage on ebay last night, I think it was a $59 buy it now price and flat rate shipping of $30 which is about $40 less than what I paid at the local pet store.

how do the plastic shelves hold up in this cage? are they doing any sagging? i was thinking about this one after all the reviews for the previous cage orrrr another cage i've been looking at that has wire floors.

So far the shelves are not sagging and I don't think they will because they are not as long as in the other cage. I do have a cage with wire floors, an All Living Things cage, but I like this one better.
