PEW's are love!

This stuff is great to mix with Baytril to get them to take their meds right off the syringe.  A couple of my boys have had the sniffles since we moved to So. Ca. and they don't prescribe my boys beloved Chloramphenicol out here.  I swear they used to fight over the stuff, lol.  They use injectable Baytril out here instead.   This stuff smells horrible and probably tastes worse.  My boys have always been great about taking meds but not with this stuff.  I tried everything from coolwhip, baby food, koolaid, apple juice, and nothing worked.  Then I tried my bf's amaretto syrup he puts in his coffee and it works like a charm.  I just suck up about 0.1cc in the syringe with their meds and they lick it right off.  No more force feeding meds.  Woohoo!  I'm a little worried about all the sugar but if it gets them to take their meds I guess it will be OK for a little while.

I think a bit extra sugar is certainly outweighed by the benefits of them getting thier meds. I will keep the syrup in mind when giving Cashew meds. Thanks. Smiley

If it works, then that is what matters.  A rattie can't get better if they refuse thier medicine!
