From your pix, some of your rats would be suitable as education animals.  The rat needs to be mostly brown, but a little bit of white is okay.

I don't have any brown/agouti rats currently... the closest I have is rusty black berkshire.

I may be able to go a little further, but I am not sure. The border is already 4 hours, any further and I wouldn't do it all in one day. However, my best friend, also a fellow rat owner, may want to accompany me on the drive. her father lives in Tiffin, Ohio which is only slightly out of the way and we may be able to spend the night at his place. This is if she is up to it. Also another issue maybe that I might only be able to drive out on Tuesday of next week, the 12th. Is that a possible date? i have no idea what your schedule is like. Would it be easier to talk by phone? Or email? Or AIM? If so I can't PM yet so email me a way to contact you and I will.

It looks like I could currently take four females, two for our program and two for a co-worker to keep as pets.  Where are the newborn fosters currently located?

If it's far from here, we'd still be interested in some of the older rats.

I'm about an hour west of Ypsi and would be happy to pick them up!

The babies are being fostered in homes close to Ypsilanti, and will be available once they are weaned. Smiley  Two forum members are helping me out by fostering the litters - SuccubusOfAngels and Standingonthefringes.

Can you tell me a bit about your program?  I'm honestly nervous about adopting rats out to programs (rather than individual homes) as when I worked at the humane society we got a ton of dumps from programs once the programs ended or when they lost interest.  Not saying anything against your program, but I want to make sure the rats get treated as pets and have a permanent home, with proper care including vet care.  Email me at huronvalleyrats@gmail.com. I completely understand, and good for you for checking into our program first!

I posted about the program last year in this thread: http://www.goosemoose.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,118/forum,rat/topic,4001145.0.  Unfortunately, it stalled due to the fact that the two rescues we adopted had to be put down and the spring got so busy that we put off pursuing it again until this winter.

I'll send you an email as well to further highlight the educational goals, living conditions, and safguards that we have in place Smiley

oh man, if any could get even remotely close to Oregon, I'd so take a few boys or girls. I'm getting another Martin's cage soon, so I have space opening up.

those babies are adorable <3

That is a huge surprise! Transport up here would still be too costly and hard right? Nobody near there happens to be coming this way anytime soon? I know me and possibly someone else who might be interested. Damn living so far east.
I'm surprised nobody has wanted them though. They look like such sweeties. I want so many! I still love London and Italy  Heart though. But I have boys... SoA I thought people were interested at first..?

Quite a few people PM'd me about Italy, but most were too far away and such.  Plus, I've grown attached to the goofy girl  Heart  Besides her and London, no one's really inquired about anyone, which has completely surprised me  Puppy Dog Eyes:

Wonderrodent - I haven't found anyone to help transport with Francisca, but if you and Kyssyfur can work things out, please let me know.  I do have someone adopting 2 boys who wants Francisca, too, but obviously if she can get to you you spoke for her first.. I just want to make sure we can do it.  Kyssyfur do you have a date?  Are you and wonderrodent able to meet up?

Yes, are there any rats left and if so is there anyone who could transport them to Waterford MI?

I would be intrested in any female thats need a good home, or any nuetered males.

I think I could take two or three, it depends on the costs of adoption and if I can get a larger cage to hold them in until they are ready to join the other ladies.

If it is possiable I would like a siamese, a blazed, a verigated, and a masked no preference for color and honestly if it helps them get a home I am not picky about what they are, those are just what I would like...

If you are worried I have six current girls (hence why I wouldn't mind males so long as they where neutered)

Well, I believe that the shelter that has these rats is still under SDR Quaratine.  But I am picking up two female rats on Monday that were school pets and the teacher no longer wants them.  I will take pictures and send them to you if you are still interest!  Please be interested!!!  I am picking them up as a favor to Blackthorn but I cannot keep them.  (Oh I am in Holland, MI and if I knew where Waterford was I probably could work something out!)

Waterford is near Pontiac.

If the males are fixed I could indeed take them but I do not have the room to keep another cage with two males, nor would it be fair for them to spend time in the same room with six unfixed females...

I have two females available that have been kept in a separate location.  They are about a year old.  One is a black berkshire and the other is a beige hooded.  There are also the two males that Kyssyfur is picking up and fostering, but they aren't neutered and I'm not sure they will be at this point (have to assess them for health and if they are really 2 years old).

Many of your previous posts state that you cannot afford vet visits for your rats.  I can not ethically place rats with someone who cannot provide vet care when needed. :\
